Gargett Sate School has a very active and supportive Parents and Citizens' Association ( P&C ) who take a more formal role to assist in providing feedback on school policies and activities, additional resources to be used to enhance student learning, and are actively involved in their child's education.
Joining the P&C is a great way to keep informed, to contribute to the quality education of your children, and to make new friends. Your contribution can be large or as small as you can manage, but your support to the P&C is invaluable. As a P&C member, not only are you supporting the school community, but you will be supported by the school community. You can learn new skills and gain a clearer understanding of how the school operates. This is a great opportunity to share in the schools decision making process and shape the future. The P & C provides and runs a variety of services to our school community including: breakfast club, tuckshop, school uniforms, fundraising and community events, contribution to the cost of buses for excursions and swimming; provides resources such as computers, iPad, reading books, sporting equipment and musical instruments.
Funds are raised through;
- School raffles
- Local rodeo- working on the gate
- Providing morning tea for the Finch Hatton Show society
- Tuckshop
- Stalls at local community events
- Bunnings sausage sizzle
