Welcome to Gargett State School, a school which provides quality education for our whole school community.
We look forward to your support and involvement with our school during your time with us.
Gargett State School was established in August, 1914 and serves a sugar farming community. It is a co-educational school offering quality education from Prep through to Year 7. Our school is part of the Mackay Whitsunday Region under the umbrella of Queensland Education. The school is part of the Mackay Regional Council in the Pioneer Valley. The nearest town is Mirani which is approximately 14km east of the school.
Gargett is a well equipped school, set against a beautiful backdrop of lush tropical vegetation and leafy green sugar cane. We have spacious, well established and well maintained grounds with plenty of shady protection from the harsh North Queensland sun.
Gargett State School is celebrating its Centenary in 2014. A Centenary Celebration Dinner is being held on Saturday, June 28, and a family Fun Day on Sunday June 29. Come along and help us celebrate.
